Murcutt Australian Mosque
Architecture AU, the official web site of the Australian Institute of Architects, published a story to mark the opening of the 'Architecture of Faith' Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) on Glenn Murcutt's mosque in Melbourne, now showing until late February 2017. There is a very interesting excerpt from a speech Glenn made at the United Nations in April 2016. This exhibition, and the radio interview with Glenn on 2 August, are all building to make this splendid new interpretation of an Islamic mosque, a major matter of interest to the world architecture community. The exhibition has been curated by Ewan McEoin, who edited the definitive book on Peter Stutchbury 'Under the Edge', first published by the Architecture Foundation Australia, now published by Thames & Hudson.
