Low energy environmentally responsive house overlooking the Firth of Forth in Edinburgh. A modern interpretation of the traditional architectural character of Cramond Village with 45˚ pitched slate roof and white rendered walls. To counteract the north facing site, a solar conservatory and solar collectors are located at the south. Hot air is drawn out of the top of the conservatory to floor level in the north facing living room and solar panels heat water reticulated in underfloor heating pipes. High insulation and triple glazing maximise thermal comfort and reduce energy demand. Under construction 2003.
