Mooloomba House,

North Stradboke Island, Queensland, Australia

The benign climate created the opportunity for space with 'transparencies’ inherent in tectonic form that bridge technology (material and technique), territoriality (the plan), light, and relationship with the landscape, and offer an opportunity for what Colin Rowe termed “phenomenological transparency” where several conditions may be 'layered' together. Inside outside boundaries become eroded and illusive, forming rooms, alcoves, and a belvedere, which are both inside and outside. The expressed hardwood timber framing and rigorous proportional and dimensional systems offer harmony and visual integrity.
