Fernberg Pavilion, Government House,
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Completed in 2001 in association with Michael Kennedy. The pavilion provides a venue for lunch parties for visiting dignitaries, staff training sessions, tennis and swimming events with new amenities and dressing rooms. It is located at a pivotal point in the existing garden layout connecting with the tennis court, swimming pool, ornamental ponds and landscaped promenade. The pavilion is built into a hillside with a masonry base at the lower level for services, storage and dressing rooms, a timber framed glazed pavilion at the upper level and an observation deck for viewing the tennis matches.
