Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class

The Foundation has had, as a central activity since its establishment, the presentation of an annual two-week residential Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class held at the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre, south of Sydney, each year. Glenn Murcutt is Australia’s most internationally recognized architect, winner of the 2002 Pritzker Prize (considered the ‘Nobel’ Prize of Architecture), and recipient of the Gold Medal of the Australian and American Institutes of Architecture. Glenn Murcutt leads the program with other tutors Brit Andresen, Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury and Lindsay Johnston.

International Architecture Master Classes

As part of our ongoing series of International Master Classes for professional architects a program was held in New Zealand from 2005 – 2008 with eminent architect Ian Athfield. A Master Class was also held in South Africa in 2009 at the ‘Cradle of Mankind’ with award winning architect Andrew Makin. In 2011 a Master Class was held in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland with eminent Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa. Our most recent International program was a 2012 Master Class held in the Blue Mountains Australia with Rick Joy from Arizona. We strive to continue presenting place based immersive programs with eminent tutors in significant locations around the world. Many of these programs are developed in partnership with collaborating organisations, practices and individuals.
